The 2017 Annual Work Conference of the Core Members and Basis Directors of the International SHP Association Was Held in HNAC


On 29th March, the 2017 annual work conference of the core members and base directors of the International SHP Association was held in HNAC in Changsha. Mr. Shuang Zhou, Division Chief of Ministry of Water Resources, Rural Hydropower and Reservoir Resettlement; Ms. Xialei Cheng, General Director of the International Small Hydropower Association, Director of the International Small Hydropower Center; Mr. Shaojin Chen, Deputy Director General of Hunan Provincial Department of Water Resources; Mr. Xiaoping Kang, Deputy Secretary General of the Changsha Municipal Government; Mr. Yong Tan, Director of the District Management Committee of Changsha High-tech Development; etc leaders attended the meeting, Mr. Zilong Fu, Deputy Director of the International SHP Center, presided over the meeting. Ruofei Wu, Director of Hunan Provincial Department of Water Resources, Rural Energy Bureau; Peixun Fan, Director of Chengzhou Base of International Small Hydropower Center; Yong Du, Director of Zhangye Base of ISHC; Hangwei Wang, Director of Jinhua Base of ISHC; Wenbao Huang, Director of Changsha Base of ISHC; Guanbiao Liu, Director of Nanjing Base of ISHC and more than 50 representatives of core members attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Shuang Zhou, on behalf of the Ministry of Water Resources, gave a comprehensive introduction to the results achieved by small hydropower projects such as capacity building, green SHP construction and poverty alleviation for small hydropower, fully affirmed the Federation’s work throughout 2017 and put forward new requirements in the next step of Federation’s work, hope the Federation could continue to play a platform role and strengthen the management, each base and core members actively supports various activities of the Federation, continuously strengthens its own construction, and promotes SHP innovation development in terms of technology, operation and management etc.

Shaojin Chen said in his speech that in the end of 2017, there 4525 small hydropower stations built in Hunan Province, with a total installed capacity of 6.28 million kilowatts and a power generation capacity of 21.6 billion kilowatt hours, the installed capacity and power generation reached around 41% of the total Hunan Province’s hydropower. It’s hoped that the conference will further deepen the cooperation between the center and Hunan Province, give fully play to their advantages in technology, talents and resources, to promote both sides cooperation for greater fruits, and make positive contributions to the sustainable development of the water conservancy industry.

Xialei Cheng summed up the 2017 work of International SHP Association, and put forward the working ideas and key work in 2018. She pointed out that under the correct leadership of the Ministry of Water Resources in 2017, we thoroughly implement the development concept of : innovation, coordination, green, open and share”, fully use the platform advantage of “small hydropower, big stage”, practice south-south cooperation, serve “the belt and road”, comprehensively deepen the international cooperation of small hydropower, actively promote the SHP standards internationalization, continue to send out Chinese voice in the international stage, and provide Chinese solutions to the world’s small hydropower development. In 2018, the center will continue to forge influential independent excellent brands such as the “ World Small Hydropower Development Report”, today’s hydropower forum and the internationalization of small hydropower standards etc, focus on implementing key international cooperation projects, promote three platform constructions of “technical service,, equipment display, investment and financing”, continue to play a role in industry leading, industry innovation and organization coordination. The center will make new and greater contributions to the world SHP green development and the construction of human destiny communities.

While reporting to the guests on the progress of Changsha Base in 2017, Xiaobing Wang, President of HNAC Technology Co., Ltd., said that the company has achieved some success in specific tasks such as “going global”, and the design & integration and assembly & testing base of intelligent power distribution systems which is built to meet the needs of the users at home and abroad for higher efficiency is about to be put into production soon. Meantime, the company will continue to enhance the core competitiveness by strengthening its R&D capabilities. In the future, it will continue to expand and strengthen its industrial chain through mergers and acquisitions. It also hope to demonstrate the unique charm of China’s energy via the IC-SHP platform.

The conference was hosted by the International Small Hydropower Association and organized by the International Small Hydropower Center Changsha Base. Changsha Base is a hydropower control equipment manufacturing base jointly built by the United Nations Industrial and Commercial Organization International Small Hydropower Center, the Changsha Municipal People’s Government and HNAC Technology Co., Ltd., carrying the dream of green energy from China to the world and showing people from all walks of life in China. In the same time, Changsha Base also bear the specific task of integrating high-quality resources and deepening collaborative innovation. At present, the base has been approved to establish academicians and experts workstations, enterprise technology centers and other research institutions.
