Small hydropower and green development
From November 1 to November 2, 2016, the Seventh
“Hydropower for Today Forum” sponsored by Ministry of Water Resources and UNIDO
and undertaken by ICSHP and International Federation of Small Hydro Power was
held in Hangzhou successfully. Yuan Jiajun, the Deputy Secretary of Party
Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, Mr. Philip Shorts, Executive Director-General
of UNIDO, Ms. Jimeta,
Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Water Resources of Nigeria, Mr. Ngwenya, Secretary-General of Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and Mr. Naivalurua,
Ambassador of Fiji in China attended the opening ceremony and made speeches. Chen
Lei, Minister of Ministry of Water Resources made the keynote report. Nearly 300
government officials, experts and scholars from 36 countries and international
organizations discussed significant and urgent problems in the hydropower
development fields and jointly discussed the schemes for sustainable
development of hydropower cause centering on “small hydropower and green
development”.
As
representatives of ICSHP Changsha Base, General Manager Liu Liguo, General
Manager Assistant Sheng Qi and Engineer Zhou Songping of Overseas Business
Division of HNAC Technology Co., Ltd. were invited to attended the Forum and
published the technological achievements paper entitled as Application of New-type Floating Oil Collection and Separation System in
Hydropower Stations, which made contributions to green development of small
& medium hydropower stations.

“Hydropower for Today Forum” is an international
conference jointly proposed by relevant member units of Ministry of Water
Resources, UNIDO, ICSHP and International Federation of Small Hydro Power in
2004 and taking discussion of global hydropower development as main issue. The seventh
Forum is a distinguished conference, which has higher scale and more countries
and quantities of representatives participating in the Forum than previous
sessions of Forums.
